The sounds of the sea bring me peace,
Soothing balm for my inner rage.
I dream to the rhythm of tides,
A blessing once you reach my age.
The sea hisses up the wet sand,
The children's sandcastles are lost,
Ebb and the flow, stop and the go,
Seaweed wildly to and fro tossed.
The wind blows the spume from the waves,
They tickle like tiny wet darts.
Their dampness the sun dries away,
Some land in your eyes, which then smart.
Waves drawing back for a moment,
Their hiss on the sand fills the air,
Just like the famed honey badger,
The sea simply is, it can't care.
