The bug burrowed into her brain,
Nesting deep at the top of the spine
Her glands now thrum to alien reign,
Chemical storms grow with time.
As her defects fade — she flourishes,
Her new form becomes allure refined.
To mere mortal men, she's ravishing;
A femme fatale, newly re-designed.
She has a multitude of choices,
Each suitor eager, pliant, vain.
She lures them softly with her voice,
Slowly leading them blind into pain.
A stabbing tube, ’neath her hair;
While her victims are lost in their lust,
It unfurls, and stabs through the ear —
The next egg slides down, for it must.
The victims’ fate is far, far worse;
Once hatched, worms hunger and drain.
They gorge on flesh, a spreading curse —
New Evolution gone insane.
The alien’s next stage awakens,
And humanity crumbles, extinct.
And one by one, the aliens die,
Their masters arrive — distinct.
A beacon hums in the wasteland air,
Its signal pulses, bleak and deep.
Colonisation is granted here—
‘Pest control complete!’
